Ana is the mother of Diosmalki, aka Mikey. Mikey is from Guaricano and  has been in our program since 2022. Mikey is an intelligent young lady who is eager to learn, loves helping others, and is kind-hearted. Her mother is a hair hiarstylist and opened her own salon recently. Currently, Ana has very little equipment and hair products. She does not have salon chairs. Ana’s customers have to sit on platstic chairs which are uncomfortable and break easily. With this microloan, Ana wants to buy some salon furniture and more products to make her business more comfortable to her customers. The most exciting part about this business exapansion is that Ana will learn how to cut and style curly hair. We will be providing Ana with training by a curly hair specialist from NYC to teach her how to cut and style natural hair. This way, she can cut and style the girls in the L&L program and in her community of Guaricano. Our girls are eager to wear their hair natural, but do not have access to the products they need and a salon that specializes in natural hair that is affordable. With Ana’s expansion of her salon, our girls will have someone to go to. Mikey will partake in the business by doing rollers, helping style natural hair and more.
